The Jersey Battle of Flowers 2009
The 2009 Jersey Battle of Flowers Day Parade was held on Thursday, 13th August 2009. Congratulations to both our Juniors & Seniors on creating beautiful floats.
There was stiff competition in all classes this year and unfortunately our Juniors did not win an award. Our Seniors efforts were rewarded and their float won the 3rd Prize, the Prix des Fleurs, as well as the award for the Best Exhibit in their class and the Clubs and Associations award.
Well done to everyone involed and thank you for all your efforts both in the lead up to Battle and during the parade. Despite the somewhat miserable weather on the day, everyone put on a fabulous show and both floats and accompanying people looked fantastic.
Although everyone involved with the floats deserves a mention, a special mention goes to Nic Bouchard who, for the first time, drove the senior float. Nic did an brilliant job and managed to both exit the shed at Meadowbank and turn at West Park, each in one go and with out incident. Well done Nic.
The Moonlight Parade was held on Friday, 14th August. Again both floats looked fantastic. Congratulations to Richard Bouchard and his team who were responsible for lighting the floats. Again they did a fantastic job and their efforts were rewarded by our Senior Float winning the Best Illuminated float over 25 feet, Well done all!
